What is Twins Plus?

Twins Plus Singapore was created in 1999 by Canadian mom Susan Hall together with some friends... it is now over 100 families!
Twins Plus is a non-profit, all-volunteer group formed to provide its members support, guidance and sharing of information pertinent to bearing and raising multiple birth children in Singapore. We are a mix of foreigners and local Singaporeans and welcome anyone who is interested in joining the group!

We meet regularly at our monthly gatherings and at our age-appropriate babies & toddlers playgroups. We also organise talks on specific subjects (with or without experts), and we launched specific support groups for parents of preemies & parents who went through fertility treatments!
Additionally, social activities are held throughout the year with members‘ children and spouses. An informative resource library is also available for members' use.
So if you are expecting twins or have twins (or any higher number!) and would like to meet with similar others and want to share experiences, join us!

“Who’s Who” Twins Plus at the end of 2006?

We represent almost 100 families, on par with last year – not that we have stopped growing, but Singapore being a regional hub, many of our families have left the country to follow other job opportunities.
But in 2006, close to 80% of you have signed up for another year, which is very positive for us!
• Today we have 85 families of twins and 14 families of higher multiples. That means almost 220 kids ranging from 0 to 9 years, or 260 children if you include the siblings.
• Close to 50% of our multiples are born in or after 2005… or are yet to arrive, and as a whole 90% are born in or after 2002.
• 38 of our families have siblings, and although only 5 chose to have other kids after their multiples, 4 of our families of higher multiples already had children before the arrival of their kids. No doubt they have an idea or two about time management!

We realise that over the years our parents have grown more committed (as you would have seen at our garage sale), not basically “buying a service”, but here to help each other, creating a sense of belonging which is so important, and makes us very proud of what we are! Thanks and let’s keep it going!

Not only is she the mother of 5 including triplets Matthew, Rhianna & Zachary born in Jul 06, but she's coordinator for the playgroup for multiples born in 2006! Nicole with Jenna, Leslie & Lennart	Nicole has always been a familiar face at our gatherings & Garage Sales, plus lending her talents in producing a short video clip on Twins Plus & now she is our Newsletter Editor. Sasha with Aaron, Alijah, Sara & Hadi	Sasha is a treasure of resources for other parents. Not only will she always take the time to respond at length to questions posted on our Forum of Discussion, but she also offered to take the lead on our support group for Preemies! Kavita & Prashant with twins Sofya & Reyna, & older sister Saiya	Kavita eagerly offered to help out soon after she joined as a member in Aug 07 & is our Special Projects Coordinator! If you have any suggestions on improving Twins plus, email her at Kavita@twinsplussing.com

Laurie (here with sons Evan & Seth b. 2001) was the president of Twins Plus from 2002 to early 2005. She now lives in Los Angeles

Petra (with Tom & Mark b. 2003) was membership admin cum treasurer cum website master from 2004 til early 2005, when she moved to Dubai

Petra (with Nicole & Bianca b. 2003) was in charge of the PG03 for a year until she moved to Sydney in November 2005

Agnes was PG coordinator for the 2004 kids until she left Spore early 2007

Germa & Marina were in charge of the PG02 until 2007

Leesa coordinated the PG05 together with Megan before moving back to Perth

Cecile with Lois & Elia (b. 2003)
Cecile was our driving force from 2005 - Sept 2007 & has since moved to Switzerland. She was Welcome coordinator, breastfeeding expert, web manager, librarian - just to name a few of her many roles in TwinsPlus.

Ayda with Dilge Su, Eren and Artun
Ayda provided wonderful DIY activity ideas for our Newsletters & over the years, has become an expert in managing allergies.

Nicola, a GP by training, helped out as our Talks Coordinator - organising sessions conducted by Paediatricians, until late last year.

Megan with Connor & Rhuari (b. 2005)
Megan started out as PG 2005 coordinator while she was expecting, began our After-ART support group & was editor for our Newsletter in 4th quarter of 2007.
